Cosmetics are substances used to augment the appearance or odor of the human body. There are several cosmetic products that we apply to our body to make it more attractive, change the way it looks and to make it clean. Cosmetics include skin-care creams, perfumes, makeup, hair dyes, deodorants, powder, lipstick, fluoride toothpaste and many other products.
There are also cosmetic products that are also drugs like, fluoride toothpaste, antiperspirant deodorant, dandruff shampoos and others. You can identify a cosmetic product as a drug if the first ingredient listed is an active ingredient. The active ingredient refers to the chemical that makes it effective and it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to show proof that it is safe to use. A makeup product which is a subset of cosmetics refers to coloured products use to enhance one’s appearance. These products are distinguished by the manufacturers as decorative cosmetics and care cosmetics.
Decorative cosmetics like makeup are to suppose to enhance or highlight the features that are needed to brought out and hide any skin imperfections or aging to make the face look younger and without blemish. It comes in many varieties like lipsticks which you can choose lip liner, lip balm and others. Foundations, mascaras, blushes and foundations are included also in decorative cosmetics. Perfumes are considered decorative cosmetics since it makes both men and women smell better.
Care cosmetics like skin creams and body lotions are those that help increase healthiness. Some skin creams are use to eliminate wrinkles and other skin problems from your face. Sunscreen are use to protect your skin from harmful rays of sun. Moisturizing creams will help maintain moisture of your face to have a soft and supple skin.
